I was first introduced to the Alexander Technique in the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 1999. When joining the class I hoped that the Alexander Technique would improve my double bass playing. Soon I noticed that the lessons were effecting not only my playing, but my whole being and life in general in a very positive way.
After some years of private lessons I decided to do the three year teacher training courseAlexander Techniek Opleiding Nederland (ATON) in Amstelveen. Currently I’m giving Alexander technique lessons in my own studio in Amsterdam West, coaching young professionals in music universities in Finland and taking part in international scientific research projects about the body mind connection and Alexander Technique.
My motivation as a teacher is to help my students reach their full potential in all areas of life. This includes recovering from complaints, managing pain to high performance in sport, art and business.
